How To Use A Tapered Feeler Gauge

Tapered feeler gauge works with the same basic principles as typical feeler gauge. Which involves filling the gap between the two surfaces using calibrated measuring instrument to know the distance between the two surfaces. The major difference between typical feeler gauge and tapered feeler gauge is that the first one consists multiple metal blades, each with parallel contact surfaces and carefully calibrated thicknesses, while the second one has tapered contact planes which allow measuring the gaps between angled surfaces. The gauges reach to a narrow point, which is at the point of the blade to expand forming a wedge.


Steps for using tapered feeler gauge:

Step 1

Step 2
